The Chief Executive Officer of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Professor Otchere Addai-Mensah, and his team have paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson on Monday, 3rd July 2023 at the Council Chamber, KNUST.

According to Professor Addai-Mensah, he decided to pay the courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor as part of activities to mark the 8th month of his assumption of duty as the CEO of KATH. He added that the visit sought to interact to find the best ways to improve the relationship that exists between both institutions. He mentioned some progress his Administration has achieved since his assumption and thanked the Management of KNUST for their immense support in shaping his career. He hoped that the cordial relationship with KNUST would continue to flourish for the betterment of healthcare education and training in Ghana and beyond.

In her response, the Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed the longstanding relationship between KNUST and KATH, which has spanned several years. She emphasised KNUST's commitment to collaborate with KATH in providing clinical training to students studying health related programmes at the College of Health Sciences. To this end, Professor Dickson stated that KNUST believes in working together with its partners to ensure the training of healthcare professionals to meet global standards. She acknowledged the progress both institutions have made and stressed the need for continuous improvement in their collaboration. ‘We have come a long way as partners and the best approach for the future is to continue to work hard on how to improve on our relationship and commitments to train the best minds,’ she added.
Professor Dickson expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration with KATH, particularly in training world-class experts. She, therefore, assured the delegation of KNUST’s continuous partnership during his tenure and also appealed to the team to ensure active communication and provide feedback through the KNUST Feedback App to help foster a good partnership.
Present at the meeting were the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ellis Owusu-Dabo; the Registrar, Mr Andrews Kwasi Boateng, and the Finance Officer, Mr. Yaw Nimo Baffour.
